Seeking Upper Ontologies for Geography and NGO Administration

Hi, all. I'm doing a content modelling project for the National Geographic Society and doing some rudimentary domain modelling first. Does anyone know of good upper ontologies or similar resource to inform some basic domain modelling around both the discipline of geography and the field of nonprofit/NGO administration? Tagging a few folks who I hope may know of resources - Pete R. Cogan S. Ellie Y. Dean A. - please tag others who you think may have more ideas. Thanks in advance for your help!

I would reach out to Dalia Varanka at the USGS, especially for geography related terms. They have a huge amount of resources for exactly these sorts of scenarios. I don't know anything about the NGO admin side, but the only person that I would know that would also know about that is Kitty Currier. They're both great! Good luck with the project, and happy to be a fly on the wall with it!

The Organization ontology may come in handy re non-profits, and FIBO even has a nod to non-profits.

Do you have any use cases or competency questions for what purposes they want to model the content?
