Seeking Upper Ontologies for Geography and NGO Administration

Hi, all. I'm doing a content modelling project for the National Geographic Society and doing some rudimentary domain modelling first. Does anyone know of good upper ontologies or similar resource to inform some basic domain modelling around both the discipline of geography and the field of nonprofit/NGO administration?
