A new Book Club next December! REGISTRATION HERE: https://www.knowledgegraph.tech/events/book-club-knowledge-graphs-applied/ Alessandro Negro, Vlastimil Kus, Giuseppe Futia and Fabio Montagna, will introduce their upcoming book Knowledge Graphs Applied! (https://www.manning.com/books/knowledge-graphs-applied) The book is still a work in progress. So we will have 3 sessions on the already available chapters:

  • Session 1, November 29th, 2022, from 10:30 to 11:30 EDT (4:30 to 5:30 CEST):

  • Chapters 1 and 2 in which we will introduce the main concepts and overview of the entire book content.

  • Session 2, December 6th, 2022, from 10:30 to 11:30 EDT (4:30 to 5:30 CEST):

  • Chapters 3 and 4, in which we will discuss knowledge graph building from structured data (with examples and hands-on)

  • Session 3, December 13th, 2022, from 10:30 - 11:30 EDT (4:30 to 5:30 CEST):

  • Chapter 5, in which we will discuss how to build KG from textual data.

The authors will be open and even willing for feedback and comments on their book and chapters. It will be a great opportunity to participate actively in the work around the book on a topic clearly of interest for this group. We encourage you to pre-order the book and save 27$! https://www.manning.com/books/knowledge-graphs-applied The already available chapters are freely accessible. Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

From the outline online, the book seems pretty neo4j-specific - is that the case?

Sorry for the late response Pete R., I think the content aims at being generic but I agree it might consider examples with LPGs. Alessandro N. should be able to give you a better answer 😉

sorry I also missed the question. Matthias S. was right. Our focus is mainly on LPGs. Very often we discuss about RDF and similar technology, but the focus is clearly elsewhere. Regarding Neo4j. Yes the examples run on that specific database but the concepts are very generic.

To make it easy to use we leveraged in any case a database that is available as open source software
