What does it mean for a data catalog to be powered by a knowledge graph? This is my answer: https://www.datanami.com/2022/09/30/what-does-it-mean-for-a-data-catalog-to-be-powered-by-a-knowledge-graph/

Excellent article you've written! DataONE has a graph in the works - but on the left hand facets, the 'Annotations' are coming from an ontology. It really helps dig down for the relevant data.

While the article linked to by Juan S. mostly uses the Knowledge Graph to describe external data (sources), data catalogs can also be used to show data in context within the Knowledge Graph itself. See our blog post on that topic from a few month back: https://blog.metaphacts.com/data-in-context-with-metaphactory-s-flexible-data-cataloging-capabilities
