I’m tangentially involved in the United Nations Transparency Protocol project who are aiming to use JSON-LD as the semantic layer ontop of their exchanged json documents for digital product passports - essentially like having a QR code on every product you buy so that you can see the full lifecycle and lineage of how that product came to be - all backed by JSON-LD. It’s not live yet, but if successful should fit the bill of what you’re after.
