Does anyone have thoughts or resources on Ontologist technical expert career paths? Looking for any existing individual contributor tracks for Ontologists.

Would you expand a bit to clarify, Ann? [- Rob - Ontologist, actively searching for employment. Available for contracting]

Sure. I've been asked to work on aligning Ontologist competencies and career progression with an internal individual contributor career path, and am looking for existing examples.

What more precisely does that mean? Can you rephrasing more simply? For example, is your employer asking you to get input about ontologist job tasks and know-how in order to develop or update the company's internal training, requirements, upskilling or job description for its ontologist job roles?

Sure, I've been in my role for almost 2 years. I am the first and only Ontologist in the company, and will be for some time. As the only person in an organization with my skill set, I am wanting to document a 3-5 year career development plan that aligns professional competencies with company needs. Was looking for any other individual contributors who had done the same and were willing to share insights.

Ann, this is something I'm tangentially involved in in my current position, happy to chat more if you like. Feel free to reach out via pm.
