I expect vendor would have some query plan feature. Stardog and AllegroGraph can show that which is sometimes helpful in determining the slow parts of a query

thanks for the shout-out. important to mention DASH, which is various extensions of SHACL. I apply it liberally to describe UIs and forms using shapes

Commented on Combining JSON and JSON-LD for Knowledge Graph Int...·Posted inAsk

thinking data-centric, I aim to reduce all that. RDF has this unique property that it can really be the unifying medium:

  1. 1.

    RDF in database

  2. 2.

    RDF in domain code

  3. 3.

    RDF over HTTP

  4. 4.

RDF in client apps (also to describe the UI itself, not only the "knowledge resources")

this way we can greatly reduce the amount of boilerplate code which converts data back and forth between varying representations

in fact, I think that it has those similar qualities which RDF/XML had. older folk will remember how that went

Einar C. JSON-LD does have its uses and the scenario you describe appears to fit the bill. but we need to be more vocal about the shortcomings and potential problems. JSON-LD can easily act as a deterrent because in practice it may add more issues than it solves and effectively steer people away from RDF. quite ironic
